BEVERLY HILLS, (LA ELEMENTS) 1-27-2016- “Everything is handmade,” says jewelry designer Stephanie Kantis. “Bronze is the base metal and I now 24 karat gold dip or silver dip everything. I’m known at Neiman Marcus and at Saks Fifth Avenue for having an artisan collection. So one thing I say is that I bridge the gap between that solid gold and diamonds and then the costume. I’m kind of that very luxury level of artisan jewelry, handmade statement jewelry.”

Stephanie Kantis was among the acclaimed sponsors who gathered at the DPA luxury gift lounge celebrating the Golden Globe Awards. Stars, nominees and presenters as well as film executives were hosted by Nathalie Dubouis-Sissoko at the penthouse of the Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel on January 7th through January 9th. Among the VIP’s in attendance were: Sharon Stone, Laszlo Nemes, (Director of Winner for Best Foreign Language Film, Son of Saul)  Rachel Bloom, (Winner Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical My crazy Ex- Girlfriend), Saffron Burrows, Viola Davis, ( Nominee Best Actress in a Television Series -Drama How To Get Away With Murder) Sarah Hay,( Nominee Best Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture made for Television, Flesh and Bone), Klaus Haro, (Director of nominated  Best Foreign Language Film, The Fencer)  Chris Noth, (The Good Wife) Anthony Anderson,(Blackish) Emily Robinson, (Transparent), Elvis Nolasco, (American Crime) and  Zoe Bell, (The Hateful Eight)

“The basic inspiration for me is to empower a woman to make a statement when she walks in the door,” says Kantis, who uses a variety of gemstones in her bold, contemporary designs.  “ The stones are all semi-precious and hand cut. Among the ones I use are lapis, malachite and labradorite. I just love that each piece represents power, represents style, represents color, and represents vitality. I love nature and I love the earth so sometimes I’m just inspired by merely the stone itself and I want to just put a simple casing around it because the stones they really speak for themselves.”

What will celebrities receive from the Stephanie Kantis line of jewelry?

“Celebrities are loving all of my Paris earrings. They are getting these wonderful large drop earrings, hammered bronze with 24 karat gold and all of them keep saying, ‘I love these because they’re light’. They’re working all day and when you want to go out at night you want to have something comfortable. I like to be a designer who is good for you. My cuffs fit just right, like butter. The earrings are light and luscious. We do not go over a certain gram weight for earrings.”

Fashion designers also descended upon the DPA luxury lounge to celebrate the Golden Globe Awards.

“We’ve been in business for two years,” says designer Marcus Andrews of M.Andrews Sartorial. “We’re based in San Antonio Texas. I built the brand as a consumer and had the inspiration for the brand as a consumer. I spent a lot of money on my own clothing and I started educating myself about different brands and about the way that suits and shoes were made. It got to the point where when I’d go shopping, I’d know more about what I was buying than the person selling it to me. I ran out of stuff to buy and I had so many ideas in my head for what I would like shoes to look like and that inspired me to start designing my own shoes. Of course, because of the quality of the stuff that I bought and was used to, I wanted to create a brand that would rival the best brands in the world. I have my own personal style and my personal taste so I looked for the best artisans, and I made partners out of them.”

Gifts from this on-trend yet elegant line included $200 towards any purchase and the opportunity to be dressed completely by M.Andrews Sartorial.

Dream getaways are always a part of DPA gifting suites and Mary Tulle, CEO of Destination Cape Breton Association, revealed what was included in the four day, three night package that VIP guests would be receiving. “I believe that Cape Breton Island is one of those special places where if somebody is going to choose to take their time to visit, then they should be allowed to have their visit customized for them. What we do for the most part is guarantee a great deal of serenity, beauty and nature and then if they’d like to go outdoors they can go kayaking, boating and golfing. Also, guests are exposed to a great culture. We have lots of things that are affiliated with the Gaelic culture, with the Acadian culture and with the First Nations so again, whatever anyone wants to do, we’ll certainly be hands on in customization.”

Returning to DPA was charity sponsor Wolf Connection. This organization dedicated to at risk youth provided a wonderful opportunity for the public to get involved. “We’re spreading awareness to the community by once a month, inviting the public to purchase tickets to come to our ranch where you will get a tour, meet all of our animals and get to know their stories,” says Cate Salansky of Wolf Connection. “Then we take you on a hike into the desert with the animals. So you get one on one hiking with a wolf.”
