LOS ANGELES, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 5/25/2018 – “The I Am What I Make Up brand vision embodies that makeup is a powerful tool for transformation and self expression,” says CoverGirl Cosmetics Senior Vice President, Ukonwa Ojo. “It’s steering away from the traditional one dimensional version of beauty and embracing that, armed with your makeup bag, you can create whatever version of yourself you feel like being in each moment.”
Ojo presented an exclusive preview of Cover Girl’s Fall 2018 collection that beautifully expressed, I Am What I Make Up, at a private party in the Hollywood Hills on May 8, 2018. Among the VIP guests were Serayah McNeill, Charlotte McKinney, and Draya Michelle, as well as select members of the media. They all gathered to see the newest offerings from one of the most iconic names in makeup.
This much anticipated event expertly mixed business with a lot of pleasure. Attendees were granted a sneak peek of what Cover Girl would offer before it even hit the stores. There were so many standouts! We were excited about their Tru Blend Matte Shade Foundation which expanded to add 26 shades to their existing collection. So now, Tru Blend Matte Shade Foundation offers a total of 40 shades, ranging from Fair Porcelain to Espresso. CoverGirl Exhibitionist lipstick is formulated with shea butter, so lips can not only look fabulous but feel fabulous too! Flourish Mascara joins the CoverGirl Lash Blast family and works to nourish your lashes with avocado and papaya oils, so that they, well, flourish.
There was a lot to enjoy at this exclusive event. Guests were treated to refreshing, handcrafted cocktails and an endless array of hors’d’oeuvres. A lipstick psychic had a line of guests waiting to glean insight into matters of the heart from their lipstick kiss imprint on a tissue. One of the highlights of the party had to be the OMBooth. Guests entered a room dedicated for their own personal CoverGirl photo session, and received the full fashion shoot video in their emails. Then there was the music. DJ Kitty Cash kept things rocking with her selection of hot melodies.
CoverGirl has been one of the premiere beauty brands for generations and continues its popularity today. Perhaps their philosophy behind I AM What I Make Up, that make up can be a catalyst for “transformation and self-expression” is the reason why.
