Los Angeles, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 7/21/2016 – The ESPY Awards were held on July 13, 2016 in Los Angeles and celebrities and athletes from every sport came to L.A. for the festivities. On Tuesday, July 12, 2016 athletes arrived in town for a celebrity-gifting lounge put on by GBK and sponsored by Cooper Tires. At the gifting suite, vendors came to put their products in the hands of trend-setting celebrities. The event ran from 11am to 6pm and was well attended. Catering was provided by Jalisco’s Mobile Taco Grill Company. Cocktail refreshments were provided courtesy of Voo Vodka.
Upon arrival, some celebrities won a gift from title sponsor Cooper Tires, which included a brand new set of high performance tires. According to the company representative, good use was made of their first time at an awards gifting suite, stating, “We’ve been educating celebrities about the importance and safety of tires. We are excited to be here and it has been a great turnout.”
After receiving their gift from Cooper Tires, celebrity attendees visited the participating vendors at the event. Boxer, Wachler Vision Institute was there to provide health and wellness services by gifted 25% off LASIK eye surgery. Dr. Brian, America’s TV doctor, was on hand to speak with guests about their services.
A crowd favorite was the Segway miniPRO, an electric personal transportation device. The younger celebrities, such as Marcos Scribner from Black-ish, had a great time testing out the brand new product, which was created with a goal towards optimum safety. Pro-wrestler Eve Torres-Gracie and her friend were even able to ride it in heels. Media representative, Jonathan Cappetta, says, “This product is the response to the exploding hoverboards from last year.It has been thrown off a building, held underwater, and more and passed all safety tests. The hardest part is trusting that the machine has your best interest at heart.”
Wag!, a mobile pet grooming service, offered guests the chance to bring their dogs for a free grooming while they enjoyed the lounge. Many pets were in attendance sporting their clean fresh looks. Another treat for the furry guests was Nulo Pet Food, a natural premium dog and cat food; the vendor gave out products to all the dog lovers.
B Opulent jewelry gifted selections from their line of handmade gemstone and precious metal designs.
Taking a break, celebrities enjoyed five-minute massages by Dr. Liza of the (fix). Also, The Good Chiropractor gave adjustments, offering a full treatment and pain relief.
Celebrities tried on custom sports jackets by JH Design Group where they could pick their favorite team jacket. Jason Belmonte, ESPN 2015 and pro-bowler showed off the team jackets with style.
Finally, many guests were happy to receive their gift from Voo Vodka, a premium American vodka. Voo Vodka launched in 2013 by founder, DeCarlos Stewart, is produced specifically to have a smooth taste.
Other outstanding gift sponsors included: Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Spa, gifting a four night stay at their Caribbean locale, RunPhones, headphones designed especially for use during exercise and sleep, and Dumbo Lounge Sacks, lightweight and inflatable in seconds, a great way to relax!
At the end of the night, the event concluded with a charity poker tournament produced by GBK. Gavin Keilly, CEO of GBK, organized the event with celebrities and professional poker players alike in order to benefit three charities. The charities included the Model Citizen Fund which helps disaster relief aid and homeless; LA Clippers Foundation, which focuses on programs for needy children in Los Angeles; and Animal Wellness Foundation which rescues dogs and cats worldwide and locally. Keilly brought his own dog to show support for the charity event and noted the ongoing appeal the GBK Espy suite, “I have been producing the event for six years and we change charities every year to give to different organizations.”
