WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 3/18/2020 -“CBD as you know is in our hero product. Although it’s not the only hero in our ingredients, it is the hero in that it is super anti-inflammatory and heavy in antioxidants,” says Mary Nguyen, co-founder of American Vanity.

We were introduced to the American Vanity skincare line, at their launch party in West Hollywood. Held on March 4, 2019 in the penthouse of the trendy Sunset Tower Hotel, a host of celebrities, social media influencers and socialites all joined in the fun. Among those attending this event were: Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic World), Logan Browning (Dear White People), Jamie Chung (The Gifted), Briana Evigan (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage, The Passage) and many more.

American Vanity was founded by entrepreneur Mary Nguyen and celebrity esthetician, Veronica Barton Schwartz. This LA-based CBD (short for cannabidiol)-infused luxury skincare line, launched its first collection with a variety of products that feature proprietary blends. “First of all, our name is a big deal,” says Nguyen. “We are very proud of who we are. We are born and raised in LA,   We’re American. There are all these brands out there from all over, but we’re American and we are proud to be Americans. Yes, we have our differences and sometimes the country is crazy, but at the end of the day we love it here, the diversity.  That’s why we put the word American in our brand’s name.”

‘All skin types,’ that is our tag line. We see things being targeted to this skin type or that skin type, but skin is skin and the root of all skin problems is inflammation.”

“Being that CBD is anti-inflammatory, we noticed that there wasn’t a product in the marketplace that really highlighted CBD correctly. There are a lot of CBD products out there, but a lot of it is not done correctly. A lot of what’s out there just uses hemp or CBD oil and you really can’t just put oil on your skin. Oil on your skin is actually really bad, because what it does over time is dries out your skin because oil doesn’t penetrate the dermis. So, we saw that as an opportunity to use an incredible ingredient in a way that actually works. Our CBD is water-dispersed first so it actually does penetrate and is thirty times more absorbent than regular CBD.”
