GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter Benson Boone, will be adding to his list of accolades with the BMI Champion Award at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards. The ceremony will take place on May 13 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. This private industry event will be hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O’Neill, Barbara Cane, VP Creative NY Samantha Cox and VP Creative LA Tracie Verlinde.
Boone first exploded onto the music scene with his 2022 breakout debut single, “Ghost Town,” winning him his first RIAA certified Gold Single and worldwide recognition. He followed up with his Platinum-certified 2024 debut album, Fireworks & Rollerblades which included the 7x-Platinum viral hit, “Beautiful Things.” A hit that seized the #2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and the #1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 for 7 weeks and earned the title of 2024’s most streamed song. With his headlining tour, Boone has also made a global impact with memorable performances at major music festivals such as Lollapalooza and opening for Taylor Swift’s ERAS Tour in London as wells as performing with Lana Del Rey at Hangout Festival.
Honors won by Boone include a 2025 GRAMMY Award nomination for Best New Artist, an iHeartRadio Music Award for Song of the Year, MTV VMA and MTV EMA awards, two NRJ Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, three BRIT Award nomination and many more. In 2023 he won a BMI Pop Award for “Ghost Town.” With the release of his latest single, “Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else,” nearly 10 billion career streams to date, sold out tour dates across the globe, and a new album arriving this Summer, Boone’s career continues to soar.
In receiving this recognition, Boone joins past BMI Champion Award winners including Peso Pluma, SZA, Jonathan McReynolds, Khalid, Mark Ronson, Redidente, Sebastian Krys, Keith Urban, Lee Thomas Miller, who were honored for their commitment and efforts in supporting the next generation of songwriters and music makers.
