LOS ANGELES, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 1/15/2024 – Awards season is well underway and the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys recently recognized a number of BMI members. To celebrate, the performing rights organization, (PRO) hosted a brunch at their office in Los Angeles on Friday, January 5, 2024.
In a gathering that was both festive and intimate, industry execs mingled with Emmy nominees. One of the highlights of this event was a video montage showcasing the music from each of the nominated artists.
The Primetime Creative Arts Emmy nominees who attended the BMI brunch included the following: “Weird Al’ Yankovic, (Winner for Outstanding Television Movie, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Nominee for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, Now You Know from Weird: The Al Yankovic Story), Ben Bromfield, (Nominee for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for Marriage is a Dungeon from Ginny and Georgia), Heather McIntosh, (Nominee for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics, All About Me from The L Word: Generation Q, shared with Allyson Newman and Taura Stinson), Blake Neely (Nominee for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special, Pamela: A Love Story), Tony Morales, (Nominee for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special, Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico) and Gustavo Santaolalla, (Nominee for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series, The Last of Us)
This invitation only special event is emblematic of BMI’s dedication to recognizing and supporting the composer and songwriting communities.
