Cutting edge beauty products weren’t the only offerings to be found at the GBK 2017 Golden Globes Gift Lounge. Tweezerman, long known in the beauty industry as the go-to brand for tweezers, has expanded their offerings of grooming accessories for men and women. Eyelash curlers designed for different shaped eyes to ensure curling precision and shaving kits for men were among the gifts offered to celebrities.
“Taraji P. Henson wore a gold necklace on Empire that said “Cookie” on it,” says Valerie Guerrero, founder and CEO of The Artisan Group, a collective of artists and designers whose work has been featured in over 40 hit shows. “The designer was The Best Name Necklace. On ‘Fuller House’ we had four pieces on last season. We’ve been busy!”
The much buzzed about ixlb Dim Sum Eats provided an array of both sweet and savory offerings for attendees to enjoy.

Philanthropy always holds a special place at a GBK event and this year’s Golden Globe gifting suite featured two worthy organizations.
American Friends of Magen David Adom is Israel’s national emergency medical response agency and Red Cross affiliate.
Lambda Legal fights to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV. Rick Davis, Regional Director of the Western Regional Office of Lambda Legal, explained what is next on the horizon for the acclaimed legal organization.
“We’ve been around for forty plus years,” says Davis. “As you may have heard, the tide has turned a little and may have turned a lot. So our goal really is to defend what we’ve got. We’ve adopted the phrase, and we’re having some of the celebrities take pictures with our phrase, ‘We’re not going back.’ We’re not losing the rights that we worked so hard over the last forty years to gain. We want to continue to build and go forward so the people who have given so much over the years…it’s just simply unfair to now return to a time where they’re not able to be who they are and they lose so much.”
Davis noted the progressive changes in social attitudes and healthcare.
“There is the bullying which is now unacceptable. There’s no more ‘boys will be boys’ on the playground. People are held responsible to things like healthcare, where Obamacare, ACA, has provided the opportunity for so many people with HIV and other health related issues to get the support that they need. That’s what our goal is, to maintain and to continue to go forward. Progress doesn’t stop for four years, it continues to go forward. So we’re not going back, we’re going forward. We’re lawyers and we will go to court and we will resist fiercely anything that tries to undermine all the work we’ve done over the last forty years.”
