LOS ANGELES, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 4/18/2021 – “If you ask me who optimizes the Self-Portrait spirit and woman, it is, and has always been, Kate Moss,” says Han Chong, the founder and designer of the much coveted and acclaimed fashion house, Self-Portrait.  “Her enormous appetite for life and her infectious sense of fun, are what characterize the women I think about when I’m designing my collections – there is this sense of freedom, of effortlessness, of embracing life.  It’s this attitude that inspires my work and now more than ever, as the world readies itself to emerge from confinement, with a revived purpose.  Working with Kate was a complete joy – I haven’t laughed as much all year as I did on set!  She is a complete professional, and makes the design feel so easy and so instinctive.  It was an honor to partner with her and a dream come true.”

Moss headlines this year’s Self-Portrait campaign featuring selections from Chong’s Autumn Winter 2021 Pre-Collection.   A collection that has been described as “refined pieces for day and night, centering around soft pieces and effortless silhouettes.” Included in AW2021 are the following styles:  Maxi dresses, midi dresses, mini dresses, A-line miniskirts, midi skirts, knit jumpers, ribbed jumpers, knit cardigans, knitted joggers, knitted dresses, wide leg trousers, quilted shorts, embroidered shorts, sheer blouses and cardigan dresses.  Fabrics such as organic cotton poplin, metallic plissé, chiffon, and vegan leather just to name a few, are also utilized.

Although throughout her storied career the acclaimed model has shot with some of the biggest names in fashion photography, the Self-Portrait campaign marks the first time that Moss collaborated with legendary British photographer, Nigel Shafran.   “What I love about Self-Portrait is their unique style and versatility which appeals to many different women, “says Moss.  “Han designs for the modern woman and I love his approach to the creative process.  When they approached me to work together on this campaign, I was so excited!  I really love the images we created together.”

The London based Self-Portrait has answered the demand for modern luxury since its launch back in 2013 in the UK.  Mindful of its environmental impact, Self-Portrait utilizes responsibly sourced fibers and in 2019, introduced organic cotton and recycled chiffon and polyester throughout its collections.  Last year, the fashion house introduced recycled viscose.  Committed to supporting British talent, Self-Portrait established a scholarship program with Central Saint Martins.
