LOS ANGELES, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 9/19/2024 – “I feel reverence when we break open a wall. These stones have been there for 500 million years,” says Vincent D’Aleo of Fallen Stars. It’s a feeling that…you just stop. Even the miners who are blue collar guys, not a lot of Buddhists among them but it’s just something that you just stop and you have to look.”
Celebrities and selected media also stopped, looked and were gifted a piece from the sparkling Herkimer Diamond jewelry display. Herkimer diamonds are quartz crystals native to Herkimer County New York. What makes Herkimer diamonds so in demand is that they are believed to dispel negative energy.
Fallen Stars was just one of the exceptional gift sponsors at the DPA 2024 Pre-Emmy Gift Suite. Other outstanding gift sponsors at this exclusive industry event held on September 13 and 14 at the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles included the following:
Milkshake Collective Founded by artist and graphic designer William Grey Mizer, this brand gifted t shirts and hoodies to Emmy nominees. All apparel featured original designs created by Mizer.
“During COVID I was kind of losing my mind, and so I wrote about someone who was also losing their mind,” says author and Tony nominee (Best Book of a Musical- Legally Blonde) Heather Hach of her novel, The Trouble With Drowning. “This was an idea that I had 30 years ago: Single White Female/Fatal Attraction for a new generation.”
Guests of DPA went home with an autographed copy of the psychological thriller.
The DPA Pre-Emmy Gift Suite could boast Hollywood royalty as one of their gift sponsors. The jewelry of Katherine Wallach, daughter of the legendary actor Eli Wallach, was offered to Emmy nominees through her eponymous line, Katherine Wallach Jewelry.
Forged from discoveries at flea markets throughout the world, Wallach’s jewelry is truly one of a kind. The designer notes, “I don’t so much design jewelry, as it designs me. Each element guides my aesthetic almost as if I was being channeled by it. I’ve always felt like I was from another era and felt infinitely more comfortable surrounded by anything old, musty even, rather than new or mass produced. What inspires me most is the history of olden things, their uses outdated by technology, their manufacture so much more labor intensive and simple yet at the same time, infinitely more sophisticated.”
Luxury getaways are always a VIP favorite at any DPA special event, and this year’s Emmy suite offered two.
Nominees had a choice of a stay at either The Greenhouse Hotel in Iceland with the most spectacular mountain views, or le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts in French Polynesia, five minutes away from Bora Bora.
Two wonderful charitable organizations were present to educate and inspire. The Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation has created projects and campaigns designed to conserve and protect the environment. Kids in the Spotlight (KITS), is a 501(c )(3) nonprofit organization that provides a platform for youth impacted by foster care to write, cast and star in their own short films. Some of these movies have screened at several film festivals including the Pan African Film Festival and the Micheaux Film Festival.
Other notable gift sponsors were: SkinMedica, offering their coveted Firm & Tone Lotion for Body. Mantra Mask, a line of CBD sheet masks and skincare products. De Marquet a line of exquisite Italian leather handbags with an art deco flair.
Refreshments were provided courtesy of Drift Coffee Bar, Ratatouille Catering and Éclair-a-licious.
