HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 9/27/2021 -Shiseido has long been renowned as a beauty industry powerhouse. So it might be surprising to discover that this much loved makeup and skincare brand, is also dedicated to saving our oceans.
Through their advocacy branch, Shiseido Blue Project, Shiseido has completed two beach conservation clean ups over two months here in California. The first was in Malibu back in late July and the second happened last week during the 2021 US Open of Surfing on September 23 in Huntington Beach.
Hosting the Huntington Beach event was actor Sam Trammell, (True Blood) actress Janel Parrish, (Pretty Little Liars), and reality TV star, Ashley Wahler, (The Hills: New Beginnings).
Teaming up with Shiseido Blue Project for the beach cleanup were World Surf League PURE-World Surf League’s environmental initiative committed to “inspiring, educating and empowering ocean protection.” Launched in 2019, PURE utilizes a range of actions dedicated to protecting the ocean including cleaning up beaches, leading global conservation campaigns such as We Are One Ocean and promoting ocean and sun-safe habits. WILDCOAST, which is the grantee of the We Are One Ocean campaign, is an international team that conserves coastal and marine ecosystems and addresses climate change through natural solutions.
