LOS ANGELES, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 9/20/2021- “It’s a women-owned, family-run business,” says Kelly Kay of Kelly Kay Paper Company.  “We started it 15 years ago.  I just saw a need to put beauty out into the world.  I think that beauty brings us peace and joy and allows us to pause to appreciate and that’s important for our world today.  Paper products speak to me because I like to be able to touch and to feel.  So especially stationary when you get something in the mail, there’s nothing like it.  We also have calendars that gives you new artwork every month and it’s just a nice thing to be able to look at.”

Kay gifted her artistic stationery and accessories to guests at the Secret Room Events pre-Emmy Awards gifting lounge held on Thursday, September 16 at Peterson Automotive in Los Angeles. Emmy nominees, celebrity fan favorites and media mingled on the rooftop of Peterson Automotive while enjoying refreshments and discovering exciting new brands-many of which give back to the community.

Let’s face it, (pun intended), the stress of a huge industry event like the Emmy’s can do a number on your skin.  Fortunately, Dee Dee Serpa Whickman and her sister Mary Ann were on hand to gift items from their skincare line, Skin Prophecy, named after their skin care clinic based in Santa Barbara.  The gift sets included cleanser, vitamin c serum with three forms of vitamin C and their signature product, the surface serum that works like Retin-A but without the harshness.

Our four-legged friends could also enjoy a little TLC courtesy of Dee Dee and Mary Ann.  Secret Room attendees received a gift set containing shampoo and conditioner with pro-vitamin B, a paw wash and a natural bug repellent spray, free of sulfates, phosphates, parabens or dyes.  “We use human grade ingredients,” notes Serpa- Whickman.

“Everything here is plant based, vegan 100% cruelty free, notes the representative for 10 + Free Nail Color. “The nail polishes are not only plant based but they wear for 7-10 days.    And also this line has a nail growth serum as well as nail polish.  So there are clinicals that show before and after so 71% after one month see a growth enhancement and then 90% after 4 months.”

Kitten Beauty gifted makeup bags filled with assorted lip glosses, matte lipsticks and even nail color.

Stylish totes were gifted courtesy of Renata Hoskins, founder of accessory line, Regular Ren.  Regular Ren offers an assortment of cosmetic bags, passport wallets, key chains and more.  Hoskins launched her first bag back in 2019.

Other notable gift sponsors included the following:  Third Mind Shoes, the men’s footwear company with the mission to “engineer a dress shoe to perform every bit as well as his favorite running shoes.” Chef Kela Hunt teaches baking classes virtually providing an inclusive, guided experience and has worked with the Apple and eBay corporations to host food related experiences.  Chef Hunt treated guests of the Secret Room Events Emmy gifting lounge to her delicious cookies.  Representatives from Paru Tea handed out packets of their organic tea from Vietnam.
