LOS ANGELES, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 10/6/2019 -“We have the Fire & Ice Facial and the Hydra Facial,” says Hilda Kasimian, founder of the Haas Wellness Center. “The Hydra Facial is the one that uses the machine that actually does the extraction and the exfoliating. It does everything and then at the end it puts back everything that you need. It’s a dermabuilder, brightening, whatever you need. We also have laser treatment. The Laser Genesis is great because what it does is it uses the laser to stimulate collagen so that it reduces fine lines, reduces acne scarring, reduces pore size, and gives a youthful look and there’s no down time. You walk in, walk out, and no one would know that you did it except that you look fresh.”
The Haas Wellness Center was among the many luxury sponsors at Nathalie Dubois’ 2019 DPA Emmy Awards Gifting Lounge. This invitation only event was held at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel and ran for three days, from September 19th to the 21st.
VIP guests attending the 2019 DPA Emmy Awards Gifting Lounge included the following: Emmy Winners and Nominees: Billy Porter, (Winner: Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series, Pose, Alex Borstein, (Winner: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). Viola David, (Nominee: Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series, How To Get Away With Murder), Catherine O’Hara, (Nominee: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Schitt’s Creek) and Glynn Turman, (Nominee: Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series: How To Get Away With Murder).
The iconic orange sofa from the TV show Friends also made an appearance at the DPA Emmy Gift Lounge. Proving to be a huge hit at this party, guests were more than happy to have their photos taken with this special piece of TV memorabilia to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hit show. (Has it really been 25 years?) A number of VIP’ also went home with branded products from the multi-Emmy winning comedy series.
As far as the luxury brand sponsors at this event, there were so many. Among the highlights were the following:
Madame Adassa It must be the eye-catching fusion of European and Caribbean design that makes this label a hit on the fashion runways.
MSKH Cashmere A beautiful collection of pure cashmere sweaters created by Majda Sakho, wife of French soccer player, Mamadou Sakho.
Nabila K We love their organic and cruelty free skincare products. Their Rose Garden Body Butter is heavenly! But did you know that they make intricately designed cashmere scarves too? Do visit their site. This is beautiful luxury.
De Marquet This Swiss handbag company is obviously a hit with celebrities. We are noticing the brand’s Night&Day design more and more on the red carpet.
The healing power of crystals in your bath? Mama Mystic Soap & More can make that happen. This mother and son company integrates crystals into their soaps and bath bombs. “So while you’re bathing, you’re washing with energy and you get to keep the crystal afterwards,” says Shant Shahinian, who happens to be the owner of Mystic Relics.
Let’s face it. Emmy week can be as stressful as it is exhilarating. Fortunately, DPA was gifting not one but two incredible getaways. Relais and Chateaux’s Le Taha’a Island Resort and Spa in French Polynesia, and Soori Bali, which can lay claim to having one of the ten most beautiful swimming pools.
Philanthropy also has a special place at DPA events, and there were two wonderful organizations whose representatives were on hand to inform guests about their mission. Stepping Forward LA works to guide foster youth as they become adults and age out of the services provided to them as minors. Founded in 1892 by John Muir, the Sierra Club, fights for action and awareness of crucial environmental issues such as global warming and promoting the use of sustainable energy.
Guests at the 2019 DPA Emmy Gifting Lounge were treated to really great comfort food courtesy of Carvery Kitchen. Generous servings of homemade brisket, beef pastry, mashed potatoes, and so much more, were enjoyed by attendees. Owner Irina Trasovan explained what makes Carvery Kitchen uniquely “LA” and the services that they offer.
“We’re originally from the Ukraine,” says Trasovan. “We have a chef who’s from El Salvador, we have folks from all backgrounds. We’re Jewish so you’ve got that base. The food is a reflection of the Los Angeles kind of melting pot. Carvery Kitchen is a deli. We’ve got your brisket but it’s different from your traditional brisket. We’ve got smoked pastrami. It really runs the gamut and it’s a space where we try to keep people at a ‘twelve’ all the time. That they’re happy and they’re excited because the food tastes better. Every month, people are encouraged to come up with a new dish. So it’s a community space but we have our staples. That brisket isn’t going anywhere. The mashed potatoes aren’t going anywhere. But a lot of other things, will rotate. If an employee comes up with an idea, it’s going to be named for the employee.”
“We do custom catering. We’ve had people ask for vegan catering and vegetarian catering, it gets really creative. The whole idea behind the catering is that food is how you connect with people. So, if we have a conversation, it’s not going to be about food. It’s going to be about, ‘tell me about life.’ We’re going to chat and I’m going to get a sense of you and that’s how our chef’s work. When they get that sense of you, they can come up with a menu that’s unique to you and focus on the kind of event that you want to put out.
