BEVERLY HILLS, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 9/25/2021 – “There’s some unprecedented things happening,” says two-time Emmy award winner Tyra Banks after stating that she’s most excited for this year’s Best Actress Emmy nominations. She gave special mention to Mj Rodriguez of Pose, “That for me is like oh my God. We’re obsessed with Pose, and the fact that she’s nominated is amazing.”

The DPA 2021 Emmy Gifting Suite was held at the Luxe Hotel rooftop courtyard on September 18 and had attendees in a similar buzz for both this year’s nominees and the Suite’s remarkable gift sponsors. After a difficult year, many sponsors chose to focus on making local and global change or promoting wellness of mind and body. “I want to give my family and friends and other people in the world a better life. To make a difference and to help those who don’t have a voice,” says Tiffany Wooden creator of Verita Couture. Since its inception in 2017, her brand has taken the fashion world by storm, with designs featured in New York Fashion Week, Vogue, and CIE Fashion Magazine. Verita Couture was the talk of the event as celebrity attendees like singer/actress Porscha Coleman modeled Wooden’s hand-made and elegant styles which were gifted to all VIP guests.

Along with their pick of Verita Couture, VIP guests were gifted hand-wired Herkimer diamond necklaces from Fallen Stars, designer shades from Geek Eyewear, a raffle entry for a deluxe destination trip to Tahiti, and a variety of beauty and self-care products. Food and beverage vendors also treated guests to superfood coffee elixirs, Bijoux Macarons, H2O soft seltzers, and a variety of retro sweets from the Candy Pushers.

We had a chance to chat with celebrities as they prepared for the Emmys including writer and comedian Dewayne Perkins who is nominated for his work on The Amber Ruffin Show,  (“Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series”).   As the award has gone to John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight several times in the past, Perkins hopes this year’s winner will “throw a wrench in the system that has been.”
