BEVERLY HILLS, CA (LA ELEMENTS) 2/18/2020- “I have never felt my work is so important as I do now,” says Jenni Ahtianinen, creator of Deafmetal. Jenni, an established designer who has had her works featured in the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Bambi Awards, lost her hearing just over a year ago. Since then, she has created a new line of hearing aids — ones that are both stylish and personalized designer jewelry. “It can be like glasses now. Able to be a part of your style.”

In the Brentwood conference room of the Luxe Hotel on February 8th, DPA presented their 2020 Pre-Oscar’s Gift Suite. While many of the sponsors offered gifts and luxury vacation raffles for the individual to enjoy, there was a common thread among many of the vendors: inclusivity. Whether supporting different body types or designing stylish hearing aids, the quality of the products was just as important as the story behind them. Along with tarot card readings and guided meditations, there was a sense of mindfulness of self and others. The VIP guests were treated to a variety of gift certificates, jewelry, and wellness samples. The gift suite spotlight shone brightly on the homemade and rare items such as the Falling Stars diamonds and Madame Nadine Jewelry.

We also had the chance to chat with some of the celebrities as they prepared for the Oscars. “Of course, I’m hopeful our movie will win,” Jason Keller, one of the writers of the Oscar-nominated movie, Ford v Ferrari, said when asked what his predictions for Best Picture will be. “But I would also love to see 1917 win if we don’t.”

Sparti Scents gave out first edition samples of their roll-on perfume sticks. Each scented tube comes in a vibrant color that leaves a small amount of shimmer on the skin. With a fun packaging of gold and silver confetti,  Sparti made an exciting sensory experience for anyone who came to their booth. “I love the smells — I had to come back and see the rest of them,” says child actress Izzy G. Their brand will be launching to the public in the spring of 2020.

TomboyX gave away gift bags of their unisex underwear. Their booth was consistently buzzing with guests, and they gave away gift cards as well as samples for sizes they had. “It’s great to be working with a company that I can really get behind. I love being able to ask for more diversity in our models — especially people in the plus-sized and transgender community — and our marketing team jumps right on it,” says Art Director and Designer, Amber Fusaro.
